Biomedical Cross-disciplinary Seminar Series | Physical Activity, Exercise, and Movement in Preventative Cardiology
Join us at 1 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 30, 2023, for the GW Biomedical Cross-disciplinary Seminar Series: Connecting Academic Research & Inquiry Across Disciplines. This online lecture on "Physical Activity, Exercise, and Movement in Preventative Cardiology" will be presented by Kyle Levers, PhD, an assistant professor in the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences in the GW Milken Institute School of Public Health. He also serves as the director of the Metabolism and Exercise Testing Research Services and Academic Laboratories.

Dr. Levers' applied research explores central and peripheral fatigue, stress, and movement quality monitoring as strategies to inform human health and performance while reducing the onset of disease and incidence of physical injury. He has published several articles and co-authored two book chapters related to the influences of nutrition and supplementation on exercise performance and body composition.

The Biomedical Cross-disciplinary Seminar Series explores a new cross-disciplinary topic each year. The goal is to promote networking and collaboration in translational health among researchers, health care providers, and policy makers from different disciplines to shift the paradigm—from seeking a cure to developing a strategy of prevention. The 2022-23 seminar series topic is Preventative Cardiology.

This event was organized by the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences’ Office of Integrative Medicine and Health. It is supported by departmental funding and the generosity of Ellen J. LaBelle, MD `74, RESD '78, associate clinical professor of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and John Pan, MD '70, RESD '74, clinical professor, Department of Clinical Research and Leadership and founding medical director, Office of Integrative Medicine and Health.

Mar 30, 2023 01:00 PM in Eastern Time (US and Canada)
